Some companies believe if you build powerful technology, it will sell itself. While BCGDV values new technology and engineering very heavily, we have always been a design-centric organization. We believe it’s the last 20% of the work– the polish– that really makes our ventures shine and stand out from the crowd.

Here at DV, we have three types of designers:

  • Strategic Designers, who focus on ethnographic research and designing products around human needs
  • Experience Designers, who bring technology to life by making sure consumers are delighted by the products they interact with
  • Communication Designers, who drive our visual identity as a company, including presentation design, as well as create video and animation in-house

We got all these designers in a room and asked, “What design tools could you not live without?” We wanted to know what tools are so essential to their design process that without it, they’d be slower, less creative or less effective in their jobs. The answers were broad and varied. Here are our designers’ favorite tools.
